E3 News: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition… headed for Switch?
Microsoft’s E3 presentation was a non-stop barrage of trailers, and one game I was very excited to see was Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. With the original game being released exclusively on Xbox 360 in the West, and the game making an appearance in Microsoft’s presentation, it implies the game may also be released exclusively on Xbox One in the West. A since deleted tweet by Bandai Namco Brasil seems to imply otherwise.
An erroneous comment from Bandai Namco, or confirmation of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition‘s imminent multi-platform release? Hopefully we’ll know sometime before the game’s release in Winter of 2018. The original game has been a personal favourite of mine for many years, and in my humble opinion this would be one quite fantastic addition to the Nintendo Switch library. The definitive edition will contain the content previously unavailable outside of Japan. Party members Patty Fleur and Flyn Schifo, bonus dungeons, weapons and extra strong boss monsters were added to the Japan exclusive PlayStation 3 release. While that version is playable with a fan translation patch, it just isn’t going to be the same as playing an official remaster with all this awesome content!
Returning to the world of Terca Lumireis on Nintendo Switch, on the go, with Patty in tow? Bring it on.
