E3 News: FIFA19 launches September 28 on Nintendo Switch

  10 Jun 2018

E3 is here and EA hosted their annual EA Play, whilst there wasn’t much for Switch announced, we have the low-down on FIFA19.

EA Sports FIFA19 was on show obviously and some of the details of the game are interesting, Switch is front and centre this year and it has most of the features found in the other console versions, such as, UEFA Champions League and Ultimate Team, as well as Online Multiplayer.

EA has detailed a bit more on the multiplayer since FIFA18 only supported random matches and didn’t work with a friends-list at all, this time that’s all available and you can play with any friend on your friends-list on your Nintendo Switch, although it seems only friendly matches are available and no tournament for friends matches at least.

You can pre-order FIFA19 now for Switch and if you choose to do so, there are a range of options available to you.

That’s correct there are two “editions” to choose from when pre-ordering, the “standard edition” and the “champions edition”, the standard edition carries these features;

  • Up to five Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (one per week for five weeks)
  • Cristiano Ronaldo loan item for seven FUT matches
  • Special Edition FUT kits designed by FIFA soundtrack artists

Meanwhile the “champions edition” carries these features;

  • Up to 20 FIFA Ultimate Team Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (one per week for 20 weeks)
  • Play from September 25 with three days early access
  • UEFA Champions League Gold Player (One 80 to 83 rated gold player from qualified teams)
  • Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. loan items for seven FUT matches
  • Special Edition FUT kits designed by FIFA soundtrack artists

With the Champions Edition you get to play three days before everyone else grabbing the “standard edition”, that seems like a good deal for those that cannot wait.

At the time of writing, no pricing was available, FIFA19 launches on September 28 on eShop and Physical, or if you Pre-Order the Champions Edition, September 25.

One last thing, don’t forget if you own FIFA18, there is a free download for World Cup 2018 available right now!
